Spiritual Life Groups

Spiritual Life groups are small groups that meet for fellowship and group study. Each group has a leader that leads the study discussion and a host/hostess. Most sessions are held twice a year, in the spring and again in the fall. The Road Trip Group, does meet monthly, year round, to review various books and have lunch.

If you’re interested in learning more about the current, or next planned sessions, please contact the church office by phone at: (260) 657-5364 or send an email to: Harlan.methodist@gmail.com

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is a faith-based membership organization of laywomen within The United Methodist Church. We are organized for mission and our members are committed to growing as disciples of Jesus Christ in community with other women and building the lives of women, children and youth. United Methodist Women has been in mission for 150 years.

Who is a member?  Any woman who wants to belong to and participate in the global mission of the church through United Methodist Women and who commits herself to the PURPOSE can become a member of United Methodist Women.

What is the PURPOSE?  The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

What is the vision?  United Methodist Women is turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth in the world.

What are the mission emphases of United Methodist Women?

About us:
Harlan UMW meet 6:30-8p the first Thursday of each month except for the months (March, June, September and December) when we meet the Second Saturday for Quarterly meetings 9-11a. Meetings are held at the church, 16434 State Road 37, Harlan, IN. The group supported local, national and worldwide mission with over $1,000 in 2020. Member pledges, fundraising and donations from church members fund our $3,000+ budget. Some items our budget supports: an Annual Women’s Retreat; speakers– in 2020 a program for QPR, suicide prevention training, was offered for member and community education; funeral dinners. The group directs two mission collections with church support, each year. Most recently we provided over 20 Blessings Bags to a women’s shelter in nearby Fort Wayne. Two fun, annual fundraisers, supported by members and our church, are our Snow and Sun Taxes!
